We would like to share an opportunity to strengthen our community, but to do so, we need your help!
Right now, due to seasonal equipment leasing prices, our Community Ice Rink is only able to open for 6½ weeks during what is often a long winter. Families in our community have limited options for outdoor recreation during this time.
We are currently at a critical crossroads. The high cost of leasing ice chiller equipment each year has become unsustainable, and we’ve made the difficult decision not to continue leasing moving forward. Without funding to purchase our own chiller system, the future of the Community Ice Rink is in jeopardy.
With the purchase of our own ice chiller, we can:
David Street Station sits in the heart of downtown Casper. It is a gathering place for the families in Casper as well as the visitors that spend time here. This investment enhances not just our space, but the experience of those who live, work, and gather in the center of our city.
With a permanent chiller, we’ll be able to expand successful programming like Glow Skate nights and introduce new and exciting programming such as ice bumper cars. The bumper cars have proven to be profitable in surrounding areas and create fun, alternative activities that will give families a reason for returning visits! We also have the ability to offer additional days for private rentals and field trips that serve both community and financial sustainability.
Currently, we have pledges for the purchase of the ice chiller, totaling $187,500. Part of these funds are matching grants, so we are looking for partners in this project to reach our goal of $500,000.
